I love this picture; a bit surreal and illusional. I’m not sure I like it on the canvas and wish I had ordered it larger, but it is pretty. And I have to say, this company is top notch to deal with. I don’t think you’d regret ordering from them.

I am a huge fan of Fine Art America! When looking for art for my home Fine Art America is my first "go to" place. I'm never disappointed with the seemingly endless selection and spend wonderful hours looking at the incredible variety of art available. I truly enjoy knowing who the artists are and often the presentation of their work highlights other work they have done. I have seven paintings in my home from Fine Art America and have never been disappointed in either the framed prints or the canvas. All are of high quality and arrive on time in perfect condition. I give Fine Art America the highest recommendation possible.

On our wall with two other pictures of Malta and a clay ‘eye’. Husband is Maltese and we love it there, especially Gozo.

I am not happy with Fineartamerica, I ordered this painting on the 6th of January and still have not received it, I also ordered one for my sister (different painting) and she has received hers, the orders were only one day apart, I live in France and she lives in England, what makes it so difficult to deliver items to France and both countries are in Europe, Can I have my artwork please, I've paid for it!!!!

Artist's Description

I did this ink and pastel drawing in 1969. I was spending a lot of my spare time working with artists in Mirvish Village in Toronto and still had not made up my mind as to what I wanted to do with my life. Was I going to pursue a career in art or in business? The decision was soon taken out of my hands. The Vietnam war was going hot and heavy, which totally erased any appeal I might have had for immigrating to the United States, as some of my relatives had done in previous generations. Playboy magazine was at its peak and was a mirror of western culture. Images from Playboy, the war, Cuba and entertainers were worked into this time capsule composition. For decades this drawing sat in a folder with many others that I did at that time. My daughter in 2008 decided she wanted them and had them framed. The original of this image is on the wall of her house. Forty-one years later, I find it interesting that I still like those colors in my work. The United States is at war in Afgha...

About Ian MacDonald

Ian Duncan MacDonald. "Artists are different. That creative void inside of them is filled by the gift of art. That persistent need to create. It keeps them striving. It's less about the destination than the path." For decades, I worked in oil, acrylic, ink and pastels. Now, I mostly create images in a digital medium. The speed and effects l can create by manipulating pixels on a computer screen, I find both exciting and very liberating. Interested in my background? Go to my webstite www.informus.ca. If you have any questions about my art, please contact me at imacd@informus.ca. I am always curious to learn why people have bought my images as I am incapable of choosing one over another. It is a bit like which of your children...
