Weekender Tote Bag Reviews (71)

Average Rating (5 Stars):

The bag is lovely, great printing and sturdily made. BUT I gave it 4 stars because it would be so much better if the bag had pockets, or sections, so it could be more of a travel or beach bag, not just a big undivided tote. The quality is excellent, lets get more items that are "printable".

Gorgeous art on a practical bag. Thank you, my talented friend, for helping me add a bit of magic to the everyday! Just the grownup upgrade I needed from hauling my stuff around in my boring grocery tote bags.

Artist's Description

I did this ink and pastel drawing in 1969. I was spending a lot of my spare time working with artists in Mirvish Village in Toronto and still had not made up my mind as to what I wanted to do with my life. Was I going to pursue a career in art or in business? The decision was soon taken out of my hands. The Vietnam war was going hot and heavy, which totally erased any appeal I might have had for immigrating to the United States, as some of my relatives had done in previous generations. Playboy magazine was at its peak and was a mirror of western culture. Images from Playboy, the war, Cuba and entertainers were worked into this time capsule composition. For decades this drawing sat in a folder with many others that I did at that time. My daughter in 2008 decided she wanted them and had them framed. The original of this image is on the wall of her house. Forty-one years later, I find it interesting that I still like those colors in my work. The United States is at war in Afgha...

About Ian MacDonald

Ian Duncan MacDonald. "Artists are different. That creative void inside of them is filled by the gift of art. That persistent need to create. It keeps them striving. It's less about the destination than the path." For decades, I worked in oil, acrylic, ink and pastels. Now, I mostly create images in a digital medium. The speed and effects l can create by manipulating pixels on a computer screen, I find both exciting and very liberating. Interested in my background? Go to my webstite www.informus.ca. If you have any questions about my art, please contact me at imacd@informus.ca. I am always curious to learn why people have bought my images as I am incapable of choosing one over another. It is a bit like which of your children...
