The River Raisin located in Monroe Michigan and also home of The Famous U.S. General George A. Custer who is remembered for the Battle of Little Bighorn in Montana also known as Custer's last Stand. The River Raisin is a famous River know for the battle of Frenchtown or Battle of Raisin River in 1812, the river is 139 miles long and flows into the great lake Erie of Michigan, and the french settlers named the River Raisin because of the dry grapes that grow along the banks of the river, The Battle of frenchtown was between Britsh and native Americans under the command of Henry Procter and native American Roundhead, walks in Water and slit log, vs James Madison and Winchester and Kentuckians regiments of the south.
Today The River is great for fishing and Canoeing or kayaking and Swimming and has many dams though out the 139 miles of river and is a nice place to relax on the banks and enjoy what the river has to offer
