Love the picture! Grew up on the South Side of Youngstown and Mill Creek park and the Old Mill was a wonderful part of my childhood. Now I have a wonderful memory hanging in my Family room.

Beautiful print! The colors are perfect and I am impressed with the quality of the matting and framing - very professionally done! In my case, the only thing I would change would be to get the nonglare glass, but that was my oversight and has nothing to do with the quality of the artwork I received. I love it!

I am very impressed with Fine Arts America. The frame print was produced and delivered in good speed. And I applaud the artist for a bravely passionate and intimate work of art.

Artist's Description

This is an abstracted airplane depicting Howard Hughes Spruce Goose. It actually starts up and sounds like a real plane complete with lights. Tail and steering wheel move randomly. You can see this operate on (Utube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAkkMXBEvDM) Made of 13 ply hardwood plywood, old fan cover, two fan blades, motors, strobe light, indicators and the ghost image of Howard at the wheel. Suitcase houses the amplifier and speakers for the sound that is actually created by the propellers turning. To see more photos go here http://www.relaypoint.net/~arctv/close/howard.html

My father was another early influence on my work; he was a metal and wood worker, and I learned building skills from him. He was very resourceful and inventive, whipping together small buildings and additions on our property. In 1962 I saw an exhibition of work by installation and assemblage artist Edward Kienholz. It inspired me to make my own sculpture from found objects. During this time I also became...
