Description
I edited this photo with a watercolor painting effect. I have some other versions of this image that are like a drawing, oil painting, black and white, and non painterly.
This is a view of St. Armand's Circle near Sarasota, Florida just after sunrise.
Normally taking cityscape photos can be challenging to capture if you want a clean image without people or cars. But early in the morning it's a magical time with beautiful light and quiet streets so for a short time I feel like I have the city all to myself and can capture calm images of the city!
So my husband and I woke up really early on Christmas morning and drove there in the dark to arrive when the city was still very quiet. We set up our tripods on the sidewalk and waited for the sun to rise above the horizon. The sky was cloudy, but when the light emerged it burst into beautiful patterns. We explored the area finding our "early morning presents", the views of the city we so much wanted to capture.
The city lights are on casting a warm glow onto the street. It is the corner of Filmore and St. Armand's Circle where there are historic quaint shops. On the corner is The Stadium Gallery, and the Tobacco Shop, and Salty Kisses Soap Company. Elegant palm trees lit up with Christmas lights line the street.
Sarasota sits on Sarasota Bay on the Gulf Coast of Florida, just south of Bradenton and Tampa Bay. Beautiful white sand on Siesta Key beach is nearby. Sarasota is a very beautiful city with an elegant downtown. St. Armand's Circle is on an island across the Ringling Bridge from Sarasota and connects to Bird Key and Lido Beach.
Sarasota sits on the shores of Sarasota Bay which connects to the Gulf of Mexico. It's a beautiful area on the Gulf Coast of Florida in Sarasota County south of Tampa. Nearby cities are Bradenton, Nokomis, and Venice. Beautiful beaches like Siesta Key are nearby on the Gulf of Mexico across from Sarasota Bay.
