Curt..you got that right. What caught my eye was the light at the end of the tunnel. That pic sold at the Annual Oak Tree Art Show in Woodland. I am kind of sorry I let that one go as it was only the second pastel painting I did.

nice scene Jim. looks like Shepperd's Dell...?

This is beautiful. I want to know where that path leads.

T-shrts were ordered on Nov 20th. After not receiving them and not getting any tracking info for more than two weeks I found out they never went to the printer! Based on the original shipping estimates they were to be shipped to where I would be at the time of estimated delivery with a few extra days built in on my end. Asked CS to change the shipping address so I don't have to get them shipped again back to my home address. No response to that and its been 48 hours. There are other print orders days past their shipping dates with no tracking information and no sign of the orders. The quality of products I've seen from FAA has been excellent but when orders don't ship on time, no tracking information is provided, and sometimes don't even make it to the printer for weeks (and nobody notices!!) and it can take two days to get a reply from someone, it is ridiculous! I've placed orders with more than 100 different retailers online and never had experiences like this. Mistakes happen, things stock out and shipping gets delayed but when that happens all companies keep you updated, let you know what is going on. If its going to take a month to receive something that was supposed to arrive in a week, well that sucks but at least let the customer know what is going on. The same thing happened two years ago. Prints ordered in early December did not arrive to a client until January and they were bent and chipped. It is time to step up!

It should show the title. I don't think anyone gets it or would even ask or understand if you told them. But nicely stylized withal.

Artist's Description

A pastel executed on Wallis paper of a stone walled path during a plein air outing in the Columbia Gorge. Columbia Gorge is located just east of Portland, Oregon. The momentary sweep of bright sunlight caught my eye and I immediately dropped my plein air painting equipment and snapped a quick digital shot. As photos do not always capture the moment, memory of the event filled in the blanks.

About Jim Gola

Born in Philadelphia in the late thirties, Jim Gola grew up heavily influenced by art and the cultural atmosphere contained in this bustling city. The city of brotherly love is still a thriving east coast art market that comprises some of the oldest art schools and galleries in America. Jim admits to spending numerous hours at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a youngster. Admiring much of the work of Americas past masters such as Inness, Moran, Chase, Homer and Bierstadt, among others. He then started to generate his lifelong love of oil painting. Moving to Oregon in the early sixties, while free lancing in art, Jim was introduced to the field of architecture. Upon receiving commissions to...
