"The Watercooler" was painted in acrylics on a 18"x24" panel. This wildlife painting is from a memory of a summer vacation I spent in West Virginia. I painted the deer in the river to enhance the quiet solitude of the moment. The turtle represents how small I was to the vastness of the river and the Muddy River Falls. Walking along the bank of the river, I discovered this tranquil scene and was overcome with the magic of the moment. As I climbed out from rock to rock into the middle of the river to get my reference shots for this painting, all I could hear was the rippling of the water lapping on the rocks and off in the distance a shrill voice interrupting my moment with nature, "You are going to fall in there and drown." My wife was watching me safely on the bank of the river.
