The Wave is the most famous landform feature in the USA next to The Grand Canyon. Here is a feature very near The Wave...this water feature isn't always present at the entrance to The Wave. This colorful rock feature is very near The Wave in the North Coyote Buttes and this is what greeted me after my 6 mile hike across the Arizona Desert.
The Wave is a fantastic sandstone sculpture authored by Mother Nature. Located near Page, Arizona it is a wilderness area administrated by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) under the authority of the United States Government. Only 20 people are allowed into The Wave every 24 hours...10 are registered via an "On-Line Lottery" while the other 10 lucky souls must attend a "Live Lottery" held in Kanab's BLM office each morning between 8:30 and 9:00 am seven days a week.
