This is a beautiful picture it holds a special place in my heart as it looks just like my granddaughters when they were young. The hair and the different heights of the girls was spot on, I had to have it. It's just as pictured, colors are spot on.
Artist's Description
Oyster tonging in the Chester River on the Chesapeake Bay. It was pitch black in the Eastern sky when we left the dock, but the watermen were already out on the bay. This bunch are fishing with long tongs that reach the bottom. The handles, some times as long as twenty feet) are opened and closed on the bottom until the basket is loaded with hopefully oysters. Often just mud, rock, and beer cans seem to be the catch.
