I bought this in the greeting card form. I have been purchasing cards from Fine Art America for two or three years. Covid might have been some of the reason for looking for cards on the internet. Shops were closed. The main reason I buy cards from FAA is because I got tired of looking for cards at the usual card shops. I could find cards (sometimes) that looked good on the outside but the verses were terrible or it was the other way around...terrible on the outside but maybe a decent verse inside. I pick cards from FAA that fit with the occasion. I figure I can write something on the inside as good as any card company could. I wouldn't buy these cards if I didn't think they were wonderful. The cards are beautiful and excellent quality and the envelopes are equality as good. I am glad I can make a copy of what I've bought so I can keep track of who gets what card. I don't want to send the same card to someone twice. In this case, the card is going to someone for Mother's Day.

I have not painted digitally in some time, but felt compelled to do so while suffering from a brief but nasty illness. I have painted the idea of total peace - a lake in the mountains at sunset, basking in the heavenly glow of sunset let. A fisherman stands on a raft, casting a line out into the water. A colorful, cloudy magenta sky sets a mystical mood for the landscape. Changing leaves on the tree suggests that it is autumn, my favorite time of the year.
This piece has a spiritual feel to it to me, as do some of my others. Regardless of one's belief's, art has the ability to unlock doors to other worlds. Whether it is simply the imagination of the artist or something more, this impressionistic work was an attempt at unlocking a door to a different vision - one that resembles our world but is not limited by its pitfalls. A world with no pain, or ugliness, or the brutalities of everyday life in the physical realm. A vision of a world where light fills the land and one c...
Tucson based photographer and artist Chance Kafka is a native of Laramie, Wyoming, and grew up in the small community of Wheatland, before returning to Laramie for college. He took an interest into photography at a young age, photographing clouds, sunsets, and landscapes. At age 17, he won 1st Place in the Platte County Fair photography competition in 3 out of 5 categories as the only entrant to win more than one category. Following this local success, he worked as a feature writer and photographer for the Platte County Record Times while still in high school.
