Total price $200. Murillo had several people copy his work in the 1700s and 1800s but I’ve had this one carbon dated 1654 three times! He would have been 37 yrs old and no one yet was copying or he not that recognized.An art expert in N.Y. is telling me it’s not original but radio isotopes don’t lie. Columns of diesel smoke fill the sky as a pair of Pennsylvania Railroad E-8's roar out of town two minutes behind schedule. Back at headquarters the teletype reports that the delay was due to the time required to handle an unusually heavy volume of railway express. Wisps of steam are evident from the train's steam line. Christopher Jenkins is an American artist who specializes in painting the trains, ships and airplanes from America�s great industrial age. His work has been displayed in galleries, museums, and other public venues. Paintings by Christopher Jenkins have appeared in nationally distributed magazines, including American Art Collector Magazine.

About Christopher Jenkins

I am an American artist who specializes in transportation subjects. I am retired after a 34 year career in the freight railroad industry, so I am familiar with my favorite subject matter. My objective is to capture the essence of a scene or a machine, but without distracting detail. In many of the paintings, I have worked to create a sense of motion. The paintings are created using traditional drawing and painting techniques, and a variety of high quality oil paints, brushes and other tools, including the painting knife. My process is as follows: I begin by making several pencil sketches from different angles and distances. Once I am confident I have a solid plan, I make a more detailed sketch with appropriate shading. Then,...
