(2467 c.e.), the United Earth Space Federation (UESF) FTL Star Ship, Hawkins, is enroute on a 12 year voyage to Bellatrix, a star in the Orion System that is closest to Earth, at 243 light years distant. Murmurs of life have been detected on a planet orbiting this feint star; and thanks to the perfected Alcubierre Drive, humans can make this trip, within their life time, to confirm their findings.
