You really know your Barns. Your image is full of impact, and meaning. A remnant of our disappearing heritage. Great work, I am really glad to have seen this. I enjoyed your research also. V/F

Debbie Portwood replied:

Than you so much Tom! :D

I enjoy old barns, I think back as to how it was when first built; the bringing together of community, helping hands, sharing, hard work..voted;)

Debbie Portwood replied:

Thank you so much Jack! :D

Thank you so much Randy. I saddens me to think that there might come a day when they are all gone.

Love old barns and other outbuildings, Debbie, and your title pretty much says it all. There are so few of these unique architectural and historic wonders left, so it is nice to capture them, while they are still with us. Nicely done!

Belated thanks for featuring this one as well Joan! :D

Wow! Thanks so much Joan!! :D

Thank you so much Bill! :D

Very cool!!

Loved this onesie. Actually loved it so much I contacted the designer and had a special request to see if he could change the color of the FJ40 to match a friend of mines actual truck and he was more than willing to do it. So I ordered another onesie.

Artist's Description

View of an old rustic barn in the midst of a freshly plowed field. Wonderful for any wall in your home or office or perhaps a greeting card. Many more wonderful works can be found in my various galleries, from photographs and photoart to digital creations and abstracts. Thanks for browsing, commenting and most of all for any purchases. Debbie Portwood :D (Early in American history, basically three barn styles were used: the Pennsylvania Dutch, Jamestown colonists barns, and barns of New England, such as the saltbox. Differences resulted from availability of building materials and individual builders quirks............Some barns were built for specific purposes: horse breeding, dairy farming, cattle feeding, drying tobacco and livery barns. As the westward migration gained strength, barns in the Midwest and West developed their own style. Although they echoed Eastern styles, the Western barn, Prairie barns and Pennsylvania Standard reflected the rancher s different needs...........
