About Acrylic Prints

Mounting Option #1

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

Stunning artwork. The colors are very vibrant. I get compliments on this piece all the time. I was worried it wouldn’t be as pretty post purchase verses viewing online but this exceeded my expectations!

Where is this? It has not even shipped yet!

Ad said it has a hanging wire, it doesn’t. Has a big chunk of wood glued to the back with a hanging bracket. Acrylic distorts the picture in my opinion.

This rating is for Fine Art America only. Not the artist. I received this print on acrylic. It shows to have a silver back ground, but it was green-ish in real life. That didn't work for me so I needed to send it back. It cost me $32 to have it shipped, but $96....yes, NINETY SIX dollars to have it sent back. Fine Arts could have had a pre-printed label from their corporate account (like Amazon does) for it to be shipped back and then that ($32) amount deducted from my refund. They did not. So, basically I paid $120 to get a product that did not match the print online. Therefore, I will NEVER shop at Fine Art America again AND will warn everyone I know to beware.

I have seen this in person many times. I thought it would be nice to have a picture of it. I am so glad I got this.

Artist's Description

This computerized digital painting of a blacksmith at work was taken at the Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown, NY. I used several computer photo and art programs to render the straight from the camera image into a new image that looks like it was brush-painted on canvas. The digitally painted photograph conveys an extremely hot place, and it was very hot while photographing it. This is one of my favorite paintings, and it is available for sale in many sizes and formats -- printed on your choice of several available papers or canvas mountings, matted and/or framed, or just the painting itself for you to self mat, frame, hang.

About Merton Allen

I've been involved with photography since 1939, having been introduced to it at the 1939 New York City World's Fair. I began shooting, printing, enlarging photos since I was 10 years old. I started with an old Kodak box camera. I used springs, electrical contacts and rubberbands to rig up the box camera's shutter to synchronize it to a homemade flashbulb holder, so I could photograph babies and toddlers, for pay, in their homes. I saved my earnings to accumulate sufficient funds to purchased a Kodak 35mm camera outfit in 1944. I continued this "business" through high school and into college. Immediately after graduating from college I was sworn into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a Lieutenant, serving on active duty for 2...
