My 2nd phone case cover of this scene Excellent product
This is an old, wooden, saltwater fishing lure called the Dighton Bass Bomb. It was made from approximately 1949 - 1955, and it's claim to fame was that a fisherman could change the placement of the hooks from the back to the front which changed the action of the plug. They were made in Dighton, Massachusetts, by the Bass Bomb Bait Company of Dighton, Mass. It's 6-1/4" long and weighs 3-3/4 oz. This one is marked "Patent Pending" but a patent may never have been given as the company was in business such a short time.
I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever harmed in the picture-taking process, but some things that wander into our home (like spiders) are carefully removed from the house after they serve as "models"....

This is just super Carol - and I don't know how I missed it!! Love your descriptions and how you present these handcrafted works as the masterpieces that they are. There is such an art to lures. Amazing work. F/V

Ed and I also have some great fishing memories Also 48 years worth, you and I have discovered the secret to a long marriage Carol... fish with your man....And I truly meant what I said about grouping this series in a room. Even a boys room would be perfect...

Carol, the way you showcase these fabulous lures is so beautiful. What a wonderful grouping of pictures this would make in an office or den. I just love the driftwood superimposed over the water..v/f.
Carol Senske replied:
And you are a wonderful friend who always supports my work:>). Remind me sometime to tell you the story of a non-sale on this image. Meantime, I do so appreciate your lovely suggestion to all those decorators and office occupiers and the V/F!

I love reading your descriptions of these old fishing lures. Many I had and each brings back great memories. Awesome fishing still-life photography Carol! V/F
Carol Senske replied:
My first date with my husband was fishing, in the rain, on the beach. We snagged herring (really alewives) live and fished with them. So here we are, 48 years later, still fishing on the beach. Thank you for the grand compliment, vote and fave.
