One of the few items of the 1989 UM BBall Championship that I've seen. Very nice

This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

We were disappointed that the name of the artist is cut off and not showing in full. We feel the name of the artist is an important part of it and would love to have it rectified

We live in the desert so the Palm theme resonates. The color scheme is brilliant and perfect. We would like to see more from this artist. Where do we look?
Artist's Description
On a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York with my then fourteen-year-old daughter, Hilary, she and I walked into the room in which Degas' bronze, 'The Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer,' was on display, and Hilary walked up to it, assumed the fourth position and I did a quick thumbnail sketch of them, together. A year later, I found that thumbnail sketch in my travel journal, dug up a photo of the wax original and created the oil pastel I call, 'Visit to a Museum.'
This is an oil pastel painting and Prismacolor pencil drawing. To blend the color evenly, I mask the areas around selected color-fields with FriskFilm, cutting along the graphite sketch lines on the museum board with an x-acto blade, then I apply oil pastels and blend with a rag soaked in mineral spirits, layer broad strokes of oil pastel using a light touch, push the pigment around with my fingertips, layer more color on top with pencil, then draw the details in with Prismacolors that define the finished pi...

Patrick, so much wonderful work here but this was the one that stopped me in my tracks. I love it. I've read all the comments from your fans and can only add my praise as well. You sure did not cop out on the painting behind the girl. It's got me pulled into it as well. I also stood as a highschool kid (in the forties) in front of the little ballerina with her faded, tatered too-too and gazed into the long ago dance student's presence. You've captured it all. Thanks for the kind and welcoming words as I just signed into FAA. - - - - GEORGE

Patrick, I really appreciate your very nice comments and praise for my drawing of "Stephen", my "Beatrix" sculpture and my "Light Study" painting. Coming from someone who creates such exceptional work as you, this really means a lot. I admire many of your pieces, but "Visit to the Museum" is my favorite - it is not only very beautifully executed but it is also a captivating, multi-layered tribute to Degas whose work I, as you, like very much! Very nice, thanks.

Amazing painting. I love the idea, the composition, and the craftsmanship. This painting should be hanging on the wall alongside Degas' Ballerina. Patrick, you are a master with a brush, pencil, piece of pastel or whatever you decide on working with. Bravo!
