This piece is enchanting, Anne! I really enjoyed reading your description. I love that interior!!!

Anne Norskog replied:

Thank you so much for your comments, Rhonda! (^_^)

Thank you Patricia. The railroad companies of that era were quite elegant.

Hi Vivian. This old depot is now gone but we used to take the train from here. Thanks for bringing this one forward! :-D

I adore this. Your lighthouses are wonderful, and the flowers would be perfect in any room, on any wall. This is an especially nice composition. Your eye never fails you. It's a delightful piece.

Thank you Eric!

Thank You! I loved your pink roses Marsha. So bright and beautiful on a cold winter's day. This old depot was torn down about 50 years ago. We used to board the train from this spot.

I love my new bag. It is so beautiful. I work in schools with children who have hearing loss and they love my bag. I get to share information about hearing loss with teachers in the school when they ask about the lovely picture. I also tell them about Ms. Soares. Thanks for sharing her story. It makes the picture even more unique. I had a difficult time choosing from all the options just related to hearing but fell in love with all of her offerings on this site. The quality of the bag is great also.

I absolutely LOVE Monica's artwork and it's extra special to be able to carry her artwork around with me wherever I go. Quality of the bag is good, too!

I’m very pleased with my Back2bike bag from artist John Kurtyka. The bag is high quality so it holds my library books quite securely. And since I’m a bike rider, I love the picture, so unique, people notice it and comment so I tell them about this website and the unique works of this artist.

Artist's Description

This depot at Deaver, Wyoming no longer exists. The railroad company removed it decades ago because the passenger trains were phased out. One wonders with the price of transportation being what it is now, will they rebuild the depot and bring back the passenger service? The rail company was a class act. The upholstery on the chairs, the wainscoting on the walls, and the fine slate floors were built to last. This depot was small but I remember the aura of adventure every time we took the train. The station agent tagged the luggage, counted the mail sacks, and made out the tickets. The beautiful switch lanterns made fine decoration. The route map on the wall and the official logos for the railroad company were the wall art. The Regulator Clock was wound with care. We watched the pendulum swing to and fro and waited for the Big Ben Chimes to mark the time. I drew this from memory. The last time I rode the train out of Deaver, I was an 8-year-old child. Every piece of art i...

About Anne Norskog

Art is in the eye of the beholder. I will not write in the third person here. That sounds pretentious and, most of the time, inaccurate. Being in the last third of my life, it becomes clear good health is the finest gift possible. Again, nature provides the most beautiful inspirations. Walk into your own garden. Stroll a beach or a path in the woods. Watch the sun and clouds or a kitten playing with a piece of string. Pay attention to the faces you see...they each tell their own story. Create something wonderful that has a piece of your own heart on it. The emotions that drive us human beings also drive our art. The viewer is respectfully reminded my works are copyright protected. Please visit me often. Kindest...
