I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loved it. The tuxedo cat painting was beautifully done. The blue and purple background was perfect to showcase the artist rendering of the cat.

Artist's Description

http://fineartamerica.com/shop/framed+prints/frank+hunter?page=1
This is an historic view of my childhood home in Portsmouth Ohio in the year 1948. We lived in three different apartments here from 1944 til 1955. Spent my entire school life here. 1st thru 4th at 1926 Kendall #f, 5th thru 79th at 2006 Wayne Ave #C and 9 thru 12th at 2001 Thomas #c Yellow forsythia engulfs the hillside on Wayne Avenue. As children we would sit on the retaining wall awaiting the Wednesday evening movies and church service by the Salvation Army. There would be comedies and westerns followed by a short preaching by Captain Arthur Hill. Then a dozen or so of us would leave in the van for the complete services at the Citadel at the corner of 11th and Chillicothe. I depict myself being greeted by Captain Arthur B. Hill at the administration doorway. This painting was last in the possession of the gallery of the Scioto County Community Action Organization at 3rd and Market Streets in Portsmouth Ohio.

About Frank Hunter

Frank Hunter

Frank L. Hunter... Portsmouth Ohio... the world to Tampa Florida What you see on this site is my "arto-biography".. Almost all illustrations in these galleries tell the story of my life. That is what an illustration does. On these sites you will find my birthplace, my travels, my loves and my friends. After more than fifty years in the advertising art business (or commercial art, as it was once called), I retired in 2007 and commenced to assemble past works and illustrate my life. I am a native of Portsmouth Ohio, and one of my galleries on this site is devoted to that city. I can honestly say that in each of my works, "I was there". I received fine art training at Ohio State University and then went to work for a major advertising art...
