Karen Cattel is a special artist and her whimsical art looks great on the two sturdy totes I purchased. One is a gift for a friend and the other is for me. I love them.

I so appreciate being able to have this old-fashioned outdoor dinner scene on a tote bag. It is adorable. Thank you for making it available.

I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

I feel as though I now have the weight of the world on my shoulders...
Hello, my name is Carla Carson. My home here on FAA houses all of my art I have mastered over a span of many years. I reside in Phoenix Arizona, but I am originally from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It is from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where I earned my Associates degree in Visual Communications. I work primarily with Charcoal & Pastels, & what you see in my art, poetry, and books, comes from my heart & soul, a reflection of myself. I find all my inspiration in the beauty of each day, & in the amazing people I have met in my lifetime. It is my love for people & my passion for life, that drives me to go after my set goals & follow my dreams. It has been placed upon my heart to start writing and illustrating children's books. I have...

This magnificent drawing is so filled with passion and feeling. In the past, I have described your art as coming from the inner beauty of your soul. This piece is a perfect example of that. There is so much sadness and melancholy on her face. I see you using this creation to work through deep sadness and grief. Losing someone that you care deeply about hurts like bloody hell. It sucks. (I lost three cats in the first three months of 2012) But life goes on and you have a lot more beauty inside of you to share.
Carla Carson replied:
Thank you so much Chris, I needed to hear you.... I have NEVER in my entire life had to deal with such a magnitude of emotion. My God! What a journey. I want to scream so loud. It helps to just let go & not hold in the sobs. I could only do that when Im alone. No one will ever hear or see that from me, only God. I know this will get easier in time, & I know I will get through this with help. It is so hard for me to ask for help. I know I have been through the worst thing that could ever happen & nothing will ever compare. This will make me a stronger person inside & out, a better person even. What a journey life leads us through Chris, an incredible journey.... Thank You so much again for your words. Speaking of cats, my three are always here for me, they are my joy in my time of grief. :)

I just woke from a dream with my husbands voice & all it said was my name "Carla" it woke me from my nap. I was exhausted from everything & everyone. I close all the blinds & shut off the phones & hide in my room & crawl under the covers. I dreamnt of the crazyness of the day & trying to sort through everything & dealing with everything. It gets to be so much... The way he said my name is the way he said my name when he would say it to mean quit worrying, let it go.... He only had to say my name in life & it was just the way he said it meant different things. My rock. My gentle giant. This was my 2nd dream of him.... I just he would come home. My cat at first would sit & stare at the door & wait for him...... Im a mess this minute, but am working on gathing myself as I have to do each day. Life has to go on, it just has to....

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. Mary Elizabeth Frye Thank You sweet Jolanta for sending this beautiful poem to me. I want to share it with everyone.
