Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I love this print! Her dress is so pretty and victorian and I can daydream that this is me in another lifetime , contemplating life while visiting the sea

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

Artist's Description
In 1951, Westchester African-American community leaders, the Rev. Alger L. Adams and his wife, Jessie, of Hastings-on-Hudson, sponsored a cotillion-styled ball at the Waldorf Astoria for Westchester’s Black high school graduates. Built on the notion of an old fashioned cotillion, they formed a committee of community peers. A long-time family friend of the Adams and painter of popular note, Jacob Lawrence, was asked to design the cover for the invitation. The painting, Westchester Graduation Ball, is the result of that request. The end product was an 11 page invitation and keep-sake, listing agenda, dance card and all participants and sponsors. This is not just a piece of artwork, it is a slice of Black, upper-middle-class history. A copy of the invitation is included with the painting.
After the invitations were printed, the original painting was returned to the Adams. Lawrence waved away their offer to return the precious original and instead gifted it to the Adams. The painting...
