Painting - Batik Watercolor On Ginwashi Rice Paper
We are fortunate to have some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets here along the Gulf Coast. This sunrise was so intense that the vibrant colors could be seen even when facing west.
My paintings are all hand-drawn and hand-painted (by me) on a fine rice paper with a wonderful texture that is showcased in the torn edge of the piece. I use acid-free, archival ink then apply alternating applications of liquid-hot, melted wax and watercolor pigment to produce the final detailed, yet loose, luminous, and expressive painting.
