Leslie....Thanks for the great compliments....Glad you have enjoyed the picture.....As to returning color to a reproduction.....Don't know....You might adding fresh paint....If you do, use oil....Easier to match colors ...Oil can be used over water base....But, not the other way around.....Good luck ....Again, many thanks

I love your paintings . I have when time stands still i love it reminds me of my grandpa and childhood.

I think I have the original of this painting in my living room. It’s on canvas. They look like real brush strokes to me. Is there any way I can tell?

Amazing art piece! Congratulations!

Robert......Thank you for the compliment and glad you have enjoyed the picture......Have a great Holliday

Mr. Probus, I grew up with this image hanging behind our couch. It had been there for years. My grandmother had purchased it for my mom at a starving artist sale in Ohio. Mom always loved it because it reminded her of her grandfathers farm in Kentucky. It was destroyed years ago and I thought we would never see it again. I did a google search Sunday using an old photograph I had cropped with this print in the background. To my delight it matched to this site. I was only able to order the greeting card copy today but when our budget allows I will be replacing my Moms beloved print in full size. I wanted to thank you sir for sharing your talent with the world. God is good all the time.

Congratulations on your sale !

Very nostalgic painting; congratulations on your sale, Duane!

Mine also says "the tender years". Not sure where it came from or when but my grandma gave it to me. And it's not colored like this one. It is more like a blue tint to it with a wooden frame. Very beautiful like a vintage vibe. Love this picture. It reminds me of my childhood at my grandmas house.

Congratulations on your new $ale

Congratulations on the sale of your art, may you continue to be successful!

Ruth.....If your piece is on canvas.....Take it to your local Art museum....Ask for an authority capable of analyzing original art....If it is not on canvas, it is a reproduction....Hope you enjoy it...

How do I tell if my picture of time stands still is a reprint or is real it is signed by duane r pobous

I painted this in the 60's for a reproduction company in New York.....As to the value, I have no idea....You might contact your local picture framing outlet that deals in the secondary print market......Or you might find this market VIA the internet......Good Luck

I have this same picture but the tag on it says the tender years instead of when time stands still. Beautiful picture though!

Does neone know what a copy when time stands still that was produced in the late 50s is worth in resale value if you do email me at holcomblake@Yahoo.com thx

About Acrylic Prints

Acrylic Print with Mounting Posts

Mounting Option #1

Acrylic Print with Hanging Wire

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

Hi, I ordered 4 of the above paintings that made their way to Ireland. They were for my sisters and brother. This image is incredibly special to my family as that is my dad on his farm in the image. We were so disappointed when they arrived as we were expecting a different finish. In Ireland the only way we describe acrylic is a type of paint and when we opted for acrylic we thought we would be receiving a canvas with a texture like acrylic. What you call acrylic in America we can laminate. The product was of excellent standard and your service is fantastic. however we feel so deflated as we were 100℅ expecting canvas. We even had our local framing shop ready with 4 custom made painted frames to frame the canvas. I saved and purchased these for my family for a special occasion coming up. I really don't know what to do as I can't afford to re-order. For reasons to do with the original painting we need canvas and won't be able to use the laminate. I am incredibly deflated and would l8ve to be able to reorder but just can't financially. I just wanted to make you aware. Many thanks, Kathryn

Artist's Description

This painting has been in world-wide distribution for years. Its depiction of times gone by is beautifully rendered in this nostalgic scene of rural American life. Copyright Duane R. Probus 2009

About Duane R Probus

Duane was raised in rural Kentucky on a non-motorized farm. His favorite recreation activity was riding his horse along with his dog throughout the adjacent hills and hollows. He has always had a keen obsession for studying nature. This provided Duane with material, knowledge and a romantic feel for scenes not normally experienced in today's modern world. While in high school Duane got involved in the only art classes available to the area at the time. Correspondence courses through the Minneapolis Art Institute, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Duane had an opportunity to study a year under Clause Hausseman in Frankfort, Germany, in that he was stationed at nearby Rhein Mein Air Force Base. After the Air Force, Duane attended the...
