Painting - Batik Watercolor On Ginwashi Rice Paper
This image was inspired by the many angry, defensive, and delicious looking blue crabs that have graced my traps here along the Gulf Coast.
My paintings are all hand-drawn and hand-painted (by me) on a fine rice paper with a wonderful texture that is showcased in the torn edge of the piece. I use acid-free, archival ink then apply alternating applications of liquid-hot, melted wax and watercolor pigment to produce the final detailed, yet loose, luminous, and expressive painting.
