William Lloyd Garrison (1805-1879) joined the Abolitionist movement at age 25. In 1830, he founded THE LIBERATOR, an antislavery newspaper. He was most influential in the 1830s, as an 'Immediatist,' demanding immediate emancipation without political compromise. Ca. 1840.
