Every once in a while during the winter months you'll get a rain, sleet, and ice storm that coats the trees and bushes with shimmering, sparkling ice that glistens in the sun. But the sun also melts the ice immediately. But not this time. Nature cooperated as the outside temperature stayed at just about freezing so the ice stayed on the trees for a full 24 hours giving me the opportunity to grab my camera and capture some true winter wonderland images.
Here we see trees bordering the lake in Verona Park, Verona, N.J. coated with a blanket of blue tinted ice. The Canadian Geese seem to be enjoying the weather. Probably reminds them of home.
