Re-visiting some earlier paintings from 2008, I have put together the images of five of my painted tiles from my Magic Country series, which in real life are stuck round my fireplace. In real life, the first and second rows are not immediately above each other like that. The woman and elephant are in the central position above the fireplace, while the swan, flamingo and deer tiles are down at floor level. However, when first painting the series of tiles, I did want to create the impression that the people, peacocks and elephants were up on a flowery mountain, while down at the foot of the mountain was a blue lake where water-birds swam and deer came to drink, and so I think this re-arrangement captures some of the spirit of what I originally wanted to do.

These days, I spend a lot of my spare time making Tarot decks! In 2014-2018, it was the Fiery Wands Tarot, Airy Wands Tarot, and Tarot of the Younger Self. Now, in 2020, I have started another new deck: the Glowing Tarot.
