Description
Ever since I read the book , The Alchemist, I am more in tune with omens, signs, and messages from the universe. I was walking in St. Armands Circle, Sarasota Beach, and a really interesting tree caught my eye. The tree had a trunk and limbs that resembled boneshuge bones that connectedsort of like the femur and the joints.the branches were windy and twisty with no signs of leaves or life. It was dark out an chilly for Floridas standards, I had my camera and started to take pictures of the tree when I looked up ( out of my normal field of vision as I had to strain my neck to look up at him) and there was this peaceful, white, bird perched in the tree in the late evening. That alone was unusual to me- I think he was there to get warm by the street light. That is the reasonable explanation tha t most would give. But I know it was more than that. The bird was so peaceful to look at as it was making eye contact with me.. I believe he had a message for me..He seemed to be full of wisdom and his stare mesmerized me He never moved while I was taking pictures for probably 10 minutes. It was the most beautiful sighta stark white, statuesque bird sitting in a gray tree with windy branches-absent of leaves. I do not know what the message may have been, but the birds caused me to pause and just stare at his presence. The bird was truly gorgeous on its own, but the juxtaposition of the bird and the tree was stunningone of lifes great moments..I am so blessed that I had my cameraThe world is full of beauty. Everywhere we look there is something of beauty- a tree, a flower, a bee on a plant, a falling leaf, clouds, a sunset, a bird resting on a limb, a smiling face. If we just take the time to slow down and revel in this miracle that we call earth, we would be more at peace and more content. In our modern culture, most folks are on autopilot- going through each day asleepusing each moment as a means to get to the next moment. Not truly understanding the power of each moment. I see my photography as a way to capture the ordinary, everyday things in a way that even the most unconscious person will recognize their beauty- each piece of nature is a reflection of god beauty can be found in the most common-even people we all have a story to tell. I have a lot to learn but think I am on the right path:)
My photos are also a reflection of my own personal spiritual journey where I have come to relish in the most unassuming things.Remember..When you really want something, the universe always conspires in your favor.
