Description
Young Mule Deer
Coming down from Steens Mountain, one passes a town of French Glen, population 12. The town is picturesque and at the foot of Steens Mountain and just outside Malheur National Wildlife Refuge at its south end. This day there was a herd of mule deer hanging out in town including this young one. Mule deer can be distinguished from white-tailed deer from their larger ears, the black tip on its tail as well as antlers which fork rather than branch.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
