Painting - Batik Watercolor On Ginwashi Rice Paper
This commission piece was painted from a sunrise picture taken in the early 80's at a popular local establishment. Pirate's Cove, thank goodness you're still here!
My paintings are all hand-drawn and hand-painted (by me) on a fine rice paper with a wonderful texture that is showcased in the torn edge of the piece. I use acid-free, archival ink then apply alternating applications of liquid-hot, melted wax and watercolor pigment to produce the final detailed, yet loose, luminous, and expressive painting.
