The beauty of Colorado in the summertime. Rustic Cattle Fence between Ridgway and Telluride, CO. This weathered fence follows a farm/ranch road that leads to a four wheel drive road, known as Lost Dollar. This is a relatively easy four wheel drive road that eventually ends up in Telluride, CO. Along this back road is the area where the original True Grit movie starting John Wayne was filmed. A large elk herd can usually be spot at higher altitudes before timberline. The San Juan Mountains in the background have given the area a nickname, The Switzerland of America.", no matter what you believe the area is one of the most beautiful in Colorado. So, come on, rent a jeep, try something different find those backroads less traveled.
