“You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you.”
― Andy Warhol
One of the most incredible things art does for the human soul is that it keeps us awake to the beauty, truth and goodness that's all around us. I'm thinking about those oranges by Paul Cézanne, mothers and their children by Mary Cassatt, the tomato cans by Andy Warhol, the apartment interiors of Henri Matisse; these works allow viewers to stop and be conscious that life and the ordinary world around us is really amazing, even profound.
You will be amazed at the images you see here!!
This group celebrates the ordinary. Pictures submitted should be recognizable subjects from daily life. Things like people, food, fruit, trees, and birds are some examples. However, each work should offer the viewer some new perspective on these ordinary things.
Please keep it clean and respectful. Artistic nudity is fine as long as it respects the person portrayed and the viewer (think Michelangelo). Frontal nudity will be accepted per the administrator's discretion, but it cannot be featured on the front page.
Also only submit images that you own all the rights to and that you have created yourself.
Please submit your best work and have in mind the idea of showing people how to see the ordinary world around them in a new way. Limit is 3 images per day. I will admit and feature works that fit this group description. Please know that if a work is rejected it in no way reflects on the merit of the work, it just means it's not a good fit here, though it may fit another group.
For Everyday Wonder group members who have their works featured on the Homepage, you are invited to archive your features in the Features Gallery located under the 'Discussions' heading. Simply copy the URL which can be found below your work's description under 'embed' and paste it into your reply to the discussion. Thank you and I look forward to viewing your art works!
