This group specializes in artwork depicting PLACES; cities and hometowns you may know and those you may not know. An incredible road trip.... Check out the group images, the contests and the discussion pages to assist in finding that perfect image.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS OF THE FIVE CONTEST IN HONOR OF THE GROUP'S FIFTH ANNIVERSARY
Tie for SECOND PLACE
Tie for SECOND PLACE
1- THE TITLE, THE TAGS (KEYWORDS) AND/OR THE DESCRIPTION MUST CONTAIN THE IDENTITY OF THE PLACE DEPICTED I.E. THE SPECIFIC PLACE, TOWN OR CITY, REGION AND/OR THE COUNTRY.
2 - The place does not have to be your actual hometown. It can be anywhere in the world. Anywhere is someone's hometown. However, it must be a real place.
3 - All members must have at least 25 images uploaded to FAA and a profile photo/logo. New photography members are given a month to comply. Painters should proceed with due diligence.
4 - General images of flowers, animals, birds etc. will NOT be accepted unless they are special to a PLACE with an explanation in the description. NO planes, trains or automobiles as the focus of the work. No general sunset images unless the place is shown. For instance, an image of a the sun setting over a lake, where the lake is identified and features prominently in the image is fine. A sunset showing only sky is unacceptable.
5 - No macros or close-ups. We want to see the place.
6 - All media accepted, family-friendly, no nudes.
7 - If the image does not follow the above rules, I will have to reject it. I am the final word on conformity.
Just because the tag or description mentions a place does not make it an image ABOUT that place. Don't make it hard to find. It is not enough to write a general description such as 'farmland,' 'park,' or 'my neighborhood.' Please be specific. Think of it as a travelogue or a road trip through images. Think whether someone could visit that place based on your description. For instance, instead of 'shore of Lake Michigan,' or 'Great Lakes region,' please write 'the view of Lake Michigan from the Chicago Art Museum' or similar.
Do not forget there are several discussions to participate in... Some for self promotion, some for promotion of others and some for both! Participation in discussion increases our visibility on FAA! Please post your image in the pertinent regional discussion thread, so those folks looking for specific cities or towns can find it easily.
Hope everyone has fun!

*Please do not pass off someone else's work as your own. This includes, but is not limited to, your use of free stock photography, including but not limited to, those released under Creative Commons CC0 or PDD, to create art which is indistinguishable from the prior work in any meaningful manner. No Place Like Home expects independent creation plus a modicum of creativity. This applies to all members but especially those who know what I am talking about.
