About Amy Reisland-Speer
Paint allows me to express the beauty I see in nature and people. I aspire to capture the world realistically with paint but not photographically. I want my images to have the feeling of paint but be somewhat realistic. I was raised in Tanana, Denali Park and Salcha, Alaska and currently reside in Healy with my husband of 21 years and 9 year old son. Being a born and raised Alaskan I have never lacked for interesting subjects. Acrylics, oils and egg tempera are my favorite mediums. My subjects include landscapes, wildlife, subsistence activities, everyday scenes of Alaska, and Orthodox icons.
