Artist's Description
Close-up shot of the eyes and head of a bee eating from a bright yellow flower patch at Discovery Park in Seattle WA. While hiking through the park I came across a beautiful bunch of yellow flowers growing out of huge bushes in a meadow. Always looking for more insects to photograph I found many bees and slugs enjoying a feast on these plants. This bee kindly let me approach closely and take my time getting a macro shot while it was eating and picking up pollen.
About Sarah Crites
Spending time hiking, being out in nature, observing wildlife and capturing the beauty of the natural world in photographs are my passions. I am continually amazed by the uniqueness and complexity of life. With my photos I try to capture and share with others the feeling of wonder that can be felt when looking at details of life around us: studying the intricate structure of a tiny mushroom or spotting the personality of a smiling toad. I hope my photographs inspire that feeling of wonder in you as well and that you enjoy viewing them.

Excuse this third comment... I just wanted to say that the second comment I left repeating my first comment was a reaction of my over eager button finger. Delete these last two. I do love that bee shot, though!
