I am a university graduate in Fine Arts (BFA) Honors, 2003 from Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi.
I am a freelance Photographer with a minor in Photography. I use both SLR and digital SLR’s in my photography; I also like to used old school techniques to take photographs. I paint mostly oil on canvas, but also enjoy working with acrylic on canvas and board and also with egg tempera on board. My friends would call me and ask me to take a look at their home, offices, rooms, etc. and ask me for colors, decorating ideas; I absolutely loved it! That’s how I got into art stracto. Three years ago I moved to Texas to grow what I have started and plant new roots. My art, my suggestions, my creations. Today I decorate under commission, all I need is a picture of the room or a visit to give me an idea of the dimensions and light, then I can make a proposal of color, sizes, pieces, etc. Then a few days later the painting/s is/are ready to hang. I love to work with perpetualistics and abstract subjects. I love to draw in mixed media and do portraits of people, pets, houses, landscapes or treasured objects.
I have participated in a number of group exhibitions in Asia and Middle East. I like to paint with vibrant colors, and I try to combine my modern style with a vibrant sense of life, cultures, feelings and languages. I have travelled the world extensively and all the travelling I have been so lucky to experience has taught me a balance in life, also it has taught me to be open minded and tolerant along with creating a hunger in me to learn more everyday about things which are different and new. To me my work is about the stories and sitting down with people to learn where they are coming from, to make a concept stick out from the crowd and invoke a genuine emotional response in the viewer.
