Italy

Aldo was born in the suburbs of Verona in Northeast Italy, not far from Venice. In his youth the talented photographer had become so accustomed to the beauty and uniqueness of Venice that he was blindly unaware of its distinctive splendor. As a photographer he has developed a different eye, a keener sense for aesthetics. This is demonstrated even more so in recent years. The photographer has spent a lot of time in Venice in the last four years and his images illustrate the careful attention paid to the endless architectural elements and details, the narrow alleys, canals, colorful events and strong character of its people. Aldo has acquired more of an awareness of, and an increased intimacy for this one of a kind and unusual city, which has become a significant source of inspiration for his photographic work. The photographs in this gallery were taken between 2002 and 2008. New images will be added soon. Medium: Black and White film, Kodak Tri-x, 35mm and 120 medium format. Images may appear too bright or too dark on your screen depending on the calibration of your monitor
