Cycladic Figurines

Image library of Cycladic marble figurines. The figurines are the most elegant creations of Cycladic art The idols are used as funerary offerings and are the best representative of Cycladic civilization, which appeared in Aegean Cycladic islands around 3200 BC and lasted up to the Minoan convergence in 2000 BC. Some figurines are of unknown origin since most of the sites were looted. The sites that gave rich artifacts are Saliagos (Antiparos), Kephala (Kea), Delos, Keros, Syros, Kastri and Phylakopi (Milos). The Cycladic civilization is considered the forerunner of European Civilization. Artifacts are exhibited in Cycladic Museum and National Archaeological Museum Athens.
