Q (my dog) and I started a blog to help end the injustices being done to pit bulls--BSL--Dog fighting---and to end animal cruelty. We also wanted to bring a little laughter because saving animals can be hard work. In addition the blog is for survivors everywhere and all breeds---like survivors of puppy mills and for people that go through tough times but inspire courage and love. I got a few requests for Q's pics so I linked to this cite so people can order if they want. (update 4/17/2013)This past week Q was diagnosed with bone cancer we are spending our final days working on our bucket list, writing on our blog, eating all the stuff he wants, and loving each other. survivorpitbullsandfriends4hope.blogspot.com Also, I am currently working on a project about altering environments---nature--people--animals due to human induced changes such as climate change and shifts of habitat--my first series is about Long Island--Hamptons after Hurricane Sandy--although nature is beautiful we are witnessing many changes. Philosophically my black and white/sepia pieces are influenced by past meditation pieces of the East--they used very basic strokes in black and white to depict nature and elevate the spirit of the viewer--often their works were considered vehicles for truth. As humans we need to recognize both the beauty and the effects of our imprints. ...more artwork is on the way. I have a BFA. For me on the most basic level life is Art; what the artist often does is transforms a moment into an eternity and often sees the beauty in common occurrences. My only major objection is work that inflicts suffering--some people are hurting animals and labeling it art--I fully object to this and the art community ought to be outraged--I would have never made it a single moment in a fine arts conservatory if my idea of art was starving a dog to death (this actually occurred in a gallery in latin america and was uploaded on the net).
