Black & White Digital Line Drawings

Black and white [schwarz/weiss] digital line drawings- created using a mouse as pencil/pen [c]2017 Doug Duffey In my drawings, I am heavily influenced by my Louisiana culture, heritage, traditions, every day life and scenery; especially New Orleans, the French Quarter, Mardi Gras, Bourbon Street, Halloween, the Day of the Dead, festivals, religious and voodoo imagery, folk and religious art, hand painted signs, and southern funkiness in general. Recurring themes are said celebrations, as well as ancient aliens, star and sky people, mythology, ancient cultures, etc. I am influenced by the German Expressionists and DADA-ists; the post modern expressionists, like Basquiat; the drawings of Schiele, Picasso, Klee, Cocteau, Grosz, Hubbuch,Durer, Beckmann, Dix, Klimt, Pascin, etc. Having traveled half the globe as a performer, and having lived between Louisiana and Europe for the past 25 years, I am also influenced by European street, bar, cabaret, and cafe scenes, their carnival (Fassnacht) as well as (how I see) the landscapes and all the different cultures. Most of my digital drawings are done with a normal mouse, on a normal mouse pad, in Photoshop. Some are drawn on my cell phone or my G-tablet, iPad, using my finger and/or a stylus, then uploaded to my laptop and edited in Photoshop.
