I'll make out a better bio soon. For now, just so that I can let you, just a wee bit, into my life, this is what I'll tell ya: I suppose you could call me 'specialties' Fine Art and Design/Illustration. My favorite media is graphite, although I often used mixed media to gain certain textures and effects. As far as subject matter goes, I love, love, love portraits and design. I most often find myself drawing or sketching cars, people, and pets/animals. In my opinion, the more realistic the piece looks when I'm done, the farther I've taken myself as an artist.
I usually work from other images, most often photographs. If you send me a CLEAR photo of the subject matter you'd like me to draw, I'll send back a great piece of artwork you can pass down to generations of your family yet to come. Most recently, I made a family portrait for a friend of mine, with all three of her siblings, both parents, and herself in the piece. The drawing (graphite) is 23.5' X 29'. I enjoy working on as large a surface as possible. That's just 'how I roll' haha :) I also often render various vehicles. I'm a car fanatic, a 'gear head', if you will. I attended the College for Creative Studies, Center for Art and Design, in Detroit, Michigan, from August, 1998, to April, 2002. At the end of my freshman year, I was accepted into the Transportation Design program - one of the school's highest honors, if not THE highest. I was at CCS where I was able to concentrate on fine-tuning my skills as an artist... But, every time I start a new piece, I intend to make it the best so far. As long as I'm alive, I want to keep learning. At no point in my lifetime, do I expect to 'know everything'. Knowledge and art are what make me wake up in the morning.
I'd like to be able to sell my artwork and become a true, honest-to-goodness 'artist'. In my opinion, just because someone likes to draw, paint, or what-not, does NOT make them an 'artist'. Like myself, they like to draw/sketch. Artists are in-demand and probably have their works hanging in galleries and/or museums. Also, I'd like to achieve this goal before I'm six feet under, LOL. I know, right... unrealistic dreams, you say? Maybe, but that doesn't mean I can't give it a shot!
I'm joining this site in hopes of reaching some people who'd like a realistic portrait made... Or maybe they want to immortalize their classic car that is the 'family legend'. Perhaps a loved one's birthday is coming up, and you want to give them an original gift that they could never, ever, guess was coming? Or, maybe you just, unfortunately, lot a pet, and want to pay homage to them by having a piece made that you can hang on your wall somewhere in your house ('living room' is what comes to my mind, but who am I to tell you where to hang it?). Either way, the possibilities are endless. If I'm lucky enough to make draw a piece of art for you, all I ask is this: please.. PLEASE... send me clear photographs that show a lot of detail. Make sure nothing is blocking the subject matter. If there is a person, animal, or car you want in a certain 'pose', but that picture is blocked, then send me that picture, plus other ones that DO show me the details I need to make it look like it can walk, or roll, off of the page.
