I've been interested in art all my life. Colors, forms, techniques of bringing three dimensional life to painting, all these have been
exciting. But the main achievement in art is to relate to the viewer. Images are powerful, and often bring new understandings to both
the artist and viewer.
Beginining as a young man in high school, I took correspondence courses. The workday world, in which I was a supervisor at
General Motors, left little time to pursue my interest. As a father of three, that interest took precedence over art. I did study art
whenever time allowed.
After I retired, I studied at LaFarge, and at Elder Hostel courses. When I moved to Nevada eight years ago, I attended art courses
for two years at The Nevada Community College. I've studied with local artists, Joyce Peterson and Lois Payne. I've also taught at the
local Senior Center, using vidieos, and assisting learners with their watercolor painting.
I paint with watercolor, oil, acrylic and some pencil sketching. I enjoy realism and impressionism. I've been a member of The
Washington Island Art Association in Wisconsin for many years. At present I belong to CityLightsArt Gallery. I Not only do I like to paint, I also sing.
For many years I was a member of the Associated Male Chorous, and I sung all over Wisconsin. I now am a member of the mixed chorous in Henderson.
I've been married for fifty two years, (to the same wonderful woman). She also enjoys painting.
II have my own web-site at http://www.art-las-vegas.com
You may go to see my orginal portraits, and to see my 'notecards' I've also added a new feature,
'Develop your own cards,,' which should attract those not able to use photoshop on their own to create cards. Our program uses their requests
for notecard development.
