JoAnne Lussier, award winning artist and native of New Hampshire has always loved the natural world around her. With her love of drawing that dates back to early childhood, she decided to combine the two and pursue her love of art. That was in 1996 and she has never looked back. JoAnne has consistently won top awards in juried exhibitons and fine art festivals throughout New England for her works in oil. pastel and graphite. Her creations reflect her love for the landscape and the glorious sunsets that set her spirit soaring. JoAnne's oils are painted in the tonalist style typical of the 19th centrury artists and Barbizon school of work. Her pastels are more representational with mood being prevalent in both mediums.
'I have always been attracted to the mood and atmosphere of the late afternoon and the way light transforms an otherwise ordinary scene into a spectacular display of beauty. My love of 19th century tonalism and mood of early evening is a constant source of inspiration for me. It is my emotional connection to nature that drives the content of my art. My aim is not to represent nature literally but to create a mood based on my memories of a place in time for the enjoyment of generations to come and to uplift the human spirit.'
