Joe Country (real name Joseph Greenidge)is living proof that Country Music knows no boundaries. Far from your typical country artist, Joe grew up in the rural hills and villages of Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean. His path to Country Music mirrors many aspects of his life.
As a country boy living in the concrete jungle of Brooklyn, he was invited by the founder of the Timothy Children Ranch in River Head Long Island to sing in a Country and Western day festival for less fortunate youth.
He was the first to have the nerves to take country music to, possibly, the most difficult audience ever, which was when he appeared on the popular New York City televison program: 'It's Showtime at the Apollo' in Harlem, New York. In the words of the show's host, Steve Harvey 'I have never seen this one before; this is a momentous moment here. You may never see this one on the Apollo's stage again. I have never heard of a countryman that came here before.'
Another major highlight which garnered him more success was when he was contacted by the executives in 2007 for the 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' in Hollywood, California.
As an aspiring singer/songwriter it was a tough and costly choice to move to a city without a job, no friend, nor any business connections. However, these obstacles were no match for Joe's optimism, sense of humor and his positivity.
Joe is also the author of a book 'Come on, Stupid, 'Love Yourself!'' and the creator of over 50 food and drink products.
