Kay Shaffer is a self-taught textile artist specializing in fine art batik. She blends ancient techniques of waxing and dying cloth with her own
brush and application techniques and combinations of dying methods
to create vibrant, captivating artwork. She has pursued the art of batik with a personal challenge to create
compositions that give a sense of fluidity and motion, convey space
