Monique Anna MICHEL was born and grew up in Haute-Savoie (Alps), France. As a child, she was already fascinated by her experience in the photography lab of her father, a professional photographer. She studied French Literature, Linguistics and Teaching Methodology. She earned a Doctorate of Francophone Literature at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Passionate about travels she has taught French language, literature and civilization mainly abroad: in Africa (Gabon, Senegal, Egypt), in the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Syria, Yemen), in the United States (Louisiana and South Carolina), and currently at the University of French Guiana in Cayenne. From her diverse experience around the world she has developed a deep sensitivity for nature and a love of photography. She has challenged as a photographer to find a universal language while capturing Nature's beauty through symbolic and poetic compositions inspired by Romantic, Impressionist and Abstract Painting. She received the Artmajeur Award 2015, Category Silver.
