“Without passion you will always have a blank canvas no matter how much paint you throw at it”. This statement pretty much sums up my painting process. I only paint subjects that I am very passionate about thus Portraits, Nudes, Wildlife & Horses are the essence of my paintings. I was born in Auckland New Zealand and now live South of Sydney Australia. My earliest art influence came from my Uncle who produced beautiful Seascapes in oils using only a palette knife. After winning various art awards at college I was offered an apprenticeship as a signwriter/illustrator. It was while attending trade school that I stumbled across a life drawing class. This is where my talent really started to develop and it was some of these works that were later exhibited at one of New Zealand‘s popular art galleries. I originally started as a pastel artist until a few years ago when I moved into the digital side of art. After numerous awards and success with digital painting I have had to return back to my other favourite medium of Pastels due to a severe wrist injury which limits small movements in my wrist. I am always trying new things and enjoy feedback good and bad Awards & Publications Exhibition finalist - Infinity Art Gallery - International Summer Art Expo - 2010 Exhibition finalist - 6th annual Art Kudos international exhibition - 2010 Honorable Mention - Summer Festival - Museum of Computer Art - Brooklyn, NY, USA - 2010 Directors Choice Award - Infinity Art Gallery - International Spring Expo - 2011 Exhibition finalist - Infinity Art Gallery - Black and White Art Expo - 2011 Exhibition finalist - Infinity Art Gallery - Figurative Art Expo - 2011 JUROR for the Infinity Art Gallery Animal Art Expo Published in the winter issue of Horses in Art Magazine USA 2010 Published 4 page spread Traditional vs Digital art in the winter issue of Horses in Art Magazine USA - Spring Issue Published in Visual Impact Magazine - 2 Page Interview Exhibition finalist - Infinity Art Gallery - Fall Expo - 2011 Exhibition finalist - Gosford Regional Art Prize - 2011 Exhibition finalist - Hornsby Art Prize - 2011 Honorable Mention - 13th Annual Pastel 100 Competition - Published in the Pastel Journal April 2012 Finalist - 2012 BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year 30+ paintings are licensed throughout USA, Canada and UK
