Artist Statement By Rick L.   Silas I believe my work is filling a very large gap in the use of new mediums in the fine arts.   Most conventional art schools teach mediums that are centuries old; oil painting, printmaking, water colour, pen and ink, and many more in sculpture such as wood, metal and stone.   When budgets allow rather than introducing new processes and contemporary materials we added computer generated imagery into the mix.   Although this is a great medium I cannot help but wonder what Leonardo Da Vinci would have created with liquid polymers and tempered...more

New Studio And Gallery Location

Lunenburg, NS - August 13th, 2017

We are excited to have moved right across Canada to the beautiful World UNESCO heritage town of Lunenburg, NS Canada. We have acquired a new studio & gallery space at 112 Lincoln Street and are now open to the public. Hours 10 - 5. Or by chance or appointment. Closed Mondays. Rick Silas Now Onsite Creating A Large Mural At The Cedar Hill Arts Centre

Starting today Rick will be onsite at The Cedar Hill Arts Centre creating a 45′ x 8′ mural. Rick will be hand etching and painting a landscape onto the existing glass. The centre is open to the public for those who wish to go and view the work and progress and speak with Rick. The Cedar Hill Arts Centre is located at 3220 Cedar Hill Rd, Victoria B.C.
