I am drawn to abstract forms of expression and enjoy the play between curvilinear and geometric shapes. Currently, my work focuses on exploring and experimenting with acrylics on canvas and wood. My process is governed by automatism and intention. This two-pronged approach is driven by spontaneity and improvisation, guided by chance and accident, and tempered with sense and reason. It allows my intuition the freedom to play with colour and my aesthetic judgment to carve out or expand upon the lines, curves, and shapes present within the composition. When I paint I do not try to get it right, but I trust myself in the moment and paradoxically allow the painting to paint itself.
