Sarah E. Madsen

Art http://www.sarahmadsen.com

English Artist, Sarah Elizabeth Madsen attended Central Saint Martins School of Art & Design in London, England. There she gained a BA Hons Degree in Jewellery Design. This interest in 3 D Design was quite a different direction from her first love of Fine Art. The Desire to follow figurative art however has been a constant theme throughout her life as an artist. In 1992 the young artist received a Travel Bursary from The Royal Society of British Sculptors on a Medal Design. She has also exhibited at various locations such as the Mall Galleries in London, Silvermine Art Center in Connecticut and also at Steven Whyte Figurative Sculpture Studio in Carmel, California. Focusing on Watercolor, Pencil, Pen & Conte Crayon, (Plein Air Paintings in Oil & Acrylic currently being developed.) These mediums allow the fast applications for her life studies.

'I'm not really trying to document a scene but to put down the essence. There is a very fine line of overdoing a drawing or a painting. Just one extra mark complete changes all that 'good' work into something ordinary and lifeless.
