~ Art has always been an all consuming love. I taught myself at an early age, how to draw and paint. I remember at 6 yrs. old my first visit to an artist studio was with my father, who was commissioning a few paintings for my new bdrm. I was transfixed, couldn't take my eyes off of the pretty paintings and smells of oil paints. My earliest inspiration was Disney film scenic paintings. Later, I studied painting, art history and printmaking. I'm inspired by the natural shapes and colors of nature. I strive to paint serene and vibrant, colorful paintings to draw in the viewers. I studied fine arts at our local community college and thought to incorporate my art work into illustration for magazines, i received a few commissions, and then went into other areas, advertising was exciting to me and I worked for numerous advertising companies, magazines and newspapers in So. Calif.. But I missed painting so I went back to school, meanwhile I married and was raising 2 children and working and going to school. I began a business of fabric painting, which I loved designing and creating art on clothing, which was successful dor about 10 yrs. I was involved in studing and creating printmaking monotypes for 5 yrs. And then I came back to fine arts of painting on old fashioned canvas and paper again. And for a few years I taught myself to painting on silk, which I love, and will definitely start producing painted silk scarves again when I set up the needed materials. My children are grown now, and I have the time to begin the painted scarfs again.. I also enjoy photography. Favorite artists of mine are: Georgia O’Keefe, Monet, Renoir, van Gogh, and other inspirations to numerous to mention. ~ Please browse my galleries at your leisure.
